NOTES FOR DJANGO – A Gypsy Jazz Night at Kitchen59 
On April 24th, the last Thursday of the month, Kitchen59 once again transforms into a rooftop jazz haven – this time with rhythm, romance, and the fiery soul of Gypsy Swing, inspired by the legendary Django Reinhardt.
“Notes for Django” is a special live dedicated to the father of Gypsy Jazz – Django Reinhardt, a genius who revolutionized jazz guitar despite suffering a serious hand injury. His bold improvisations, unmistakable phrasing, and rhythmic fire helped define a new era of French jazz and created a legacy that lives on today.
Inspired by Django’s spirit, guitarist Petar Koychev composed nine original pieces, woven with harmonies from timeless classics like Minor Swing, Djangology, and Limehouse Blues. His compositions, like Mayna Swing (a nod to his hometown Plovdiv) and Tangology, blend tradition and personal flair in the true Gypsy Jazz spirit.
Live from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM – two 45-minute sets with:

All of this will unfold between at Rooftop59 – one of Sofia’s most not so ordinary rooftop bars!
